The Food

At Chalet des Aiguilles we believe great food makes for a great holiday.

Our ethos is simple food, cooked well. We use the finest and, where possible, locally-sourced, ingredients to create a delicious and varied menu.

One of the joys of being owner-hosts is that we are not bound by a set choice of dishes. The menu will vary depending on whats available/in season locally, and indeed on what you tell us you would like to eat! We encourage you to get in touch before your stay to let us know if you have any particular likes or dislikes and we will do our utmost to incorporate them into the menu for your stay.

We can offer an earlier lighter evening meal for little ones on request.

We allow ourselves one evening off midweek, when you are able to sample one of the excellent restaurants which Montchavin-Les Coches has to offer. We will be happy to offer advice and make bookings on your behalf.

Afternoon Tea

Daily home baked cakes such as lemon drizzle, pumpkin, banana and chocolate

Tea, coffee, hot chocolate (with cream and marshmallows of course!)


Pre-dinner drinks and nibbles

Starters include: salad of smoked trout (caught and smoked by Sam); sardine and smoked paprika pate; home made soup; tomato and basil tarte tatin; baked goats cheese with red onion marmalade; roquefort and pear tart

Main courses include: spicy sausage cassoulet; boeuf bourguignon; tartiflette; confit de canard; miso salmon with rice noodles; prawn and mango red thai curry

Desserts include: tarte tatin; salted caramel cream pots; chocolate fondant; tarte au citron; and baked apple sponge
